The exhibition examines the philosophy of Jean Baudrillard and Andreas Huyssen.
SEVILLE, SPAIN, June 09, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Without Reality There Is No Utopia is now on show at Seville's Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporaneo (CAAC) and poses some intriguing questions.
On display until July 10th, the collection focuses on the philosophy of French thinker Jean Baudrillard and German Andreas Huyssen, who discussed the importance of retaining reality in the quest for a utopian existence.
The exhibition features texts, videos and artwork by major names such as William S Burroughs, Federico Guzman and Lene Berg.
It aims to explore the topic of reality and prompt attendees to reassess their world view.
"The interpretation and meaning of Without Reality There is No Utopia follows the argument of Andreas Huyssen in 'Memories of Utopia', an article published in Spanish in his book 'En Busca del Futuro Perdido'," explained the organisers in a statement.
Admission to the exhibition costs EUR1.80 (GBP1.60), or visitors can pay EUR3 to see the museum's whole collection.
The arts space is open from 11:00 to 21:00 local time from Tuesday to Saturday and between 11:00 and 15:00 on Sunday.
Art enthusiasts can find a broad selection of accommodation in Seville on LateRooms.com, which recommends options such as the Hotel Don Paco Seville.
More information on the installation is available at http://www.juntadeandalucia.es/cultura/caac/ or by calling the CAAC on +34 955 03 7070.
