Aspendos International Opera-Ballet Festival
This cultural festival with wide rank of attractions is a highlight on Antalya’s calendar.

ANTALYA, TURKEY, June 18, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Antalya celebrates all of Turkey';s national festivals and major events, including those on the Islamic calendar. Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the 2000-year-old amphitheatre resounds to classical tunes, attracting thousands of spectators.

Aspendos International Opera-Ballet Festival, this globally-recognized festival attracts the best of talents from the Middle East. In the last few years, some European ballet groups have also participated. The emphasis is upon presenting a blend of time-honored and modern-day, ballets and opera creations. The highlight of the show is the opera performed by the Istanbul State Opera that has become one of the most popular participants. In 2011, Bizet's Carmen (9 June), Tchaikovski's Swan Lake (29 June) and Puccini's Tosca on 2 July are three of the eight performances on the programme. However, attending this mega-event isn't easy. Visitors need to confirm their seats at least a month in advance.
